Check out this little cutie.  I found him inside my spinning compost bin.   How he got there I don't know but it was a good thing I looked inside before I tumbled it!

To Make up for My Long Absence

I have been away from blogging for a bit,  I was in a bit of a funk.  To make up for my long absence I stole some pictures from my sister's Facebook page to share with you.  She and my dad are in South Africa completing another item on my dads bucket list.  These are some of the photos she took from the Krueger National Wildlife Preserve.  Enjoy!!!

Pet Crickets?

No these are not pets but food for our Lefty Lizard.  However we do need to treat them like pets.

No no I don't mean pet them and snuggle them but feed them water them and keep their home clean.  They have egg carton pieces to hide in and I have to clean it out once or twice a week if I want them to stay healthy and alive until feeding time.

We also have to feed them a good source of food.  We chose calcium boosted cricket food because of Lefty's original condition that lead to his bad leg.

This is one of many things pet owners need to consider when choosing to take in a new non human family member.

How about you .... Want some "Pet Crickets"?

What the Duck? .... UPDATED

Saw this guy at the parking lot when I got to work.  I will have to Google him when I get home.

I think what we have here is the Muscovy Duck.  I found a picture of him on Wikipedia

Aww Mondays

Here we have Boots and Lefty meeting for the first time. The meeting was carefully supervised to make sure no shenanigans took place.
